What we do

Creating great homes and supporting communities

Creating great homes is not just about building new. Alongside our healthy pipeline of new builds is a commitment to invest in our existing properties and the communities in which we work.

Since 2004, we have invested almost £100m in improving the quality of our homes and have donated more than £1.4m to community projects through Two Rivers Initiatives. In 2020, we secured a private investment of £130m to help us continue this work and have been successful in all three rounds of bidding for the government’s Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF).

This enabled us to complete our first ever full retrofit project at a small number of our homes in Blakeney. We are currently working on a second project using funds from Wave 1 funding of the SHDF and have secured funds from Wave 2.1 to continue this work at more of our homes during 2023 and 2024.

We are committed to ensuring that our homes are affordable to run as well as to rent.

Delivering a great customer experience

We work with our tenants to help them maintain their tenancy, find additional help and support, and help us shape and improve our services.

Our welfare, benefit, and debt advice team help tenants manage their finances, apply for alternative funding and grants, maximise their income and help with specific issues. Alongside this, we launched our Tenant Support and Wellbeing Service with Life & Progress. This provides all tenants with free expert advice on a range of topics from help with family issues to financial support as well as health and wellbeing advice.

We have also invested in our contact centre and customer engagement teams to strengthen our performance in this area.  Over the last two years, we have been working with tenant engagement experts Tpas to review our engagement framework and reinforce the link between tenants and our organisation.

We know that working more closely with our tenants will deliver the best results.
